violin upper bout

One fundamental thing that is common to almost all guitars are their basic body structure. Whatever kind of guitar you want to play, they will all have the same guitar parts, although there may be minor differences here and there in the number of strings on the guitar's body shape or color and material guitar body. To learn and master guitar you'll need to learn about the purpose and functional aspects of each body part to deal with troubleshooting when a problem is encountered with the instrument.

The most obvious and largest part of a guitar is its wooden butterfly shaped body with a characteristic upper struggle that is primarily used to rest the guitar on the leg, while playing it. Wooden body has a sound hole in the center, which amplifies the sound produced by vibrating strings on the guitar. Wooden body measuring only about 2 to 3 mm in thickness and is internally supported by several internal brackets. Although acoustic and classical guitar has a hollow body and a sound hole, electric guitars have a solid body, devoid of any sound hollow.

The thin long piece of wood that runs along from the body is known as the neck (or fret board), parallel to which the guitar strings run. These strings are connected to bridge at one end and to the head of guitar at the other end, where they are stretched to an optimal level of tautness with nut and tuning pegs. The nuts are either made of metal, plastic or legs and is provided with a threading system that allows you to tighten the string by winding it up around the nut and head up to the tuners. The tuners, nut and tuning pegs attached to the head stock are all useful for adjusting the pitch of each string on the guitar.

The short metal strips running across along the neck or fret board at regular intervals, known as bands. This is where you will press down the string by using the fingers, thereby providing a second sound quality to the note played.

Once you learn & master guitar, you will realize the importance of this lesson that teaches you about the different parts of a guitar, so you are able to appreciate the usefulness of each component and understand how each component impacts the sound quality produced.
