VIOLIN HELP!!!INSTRUCTIONAL CDS/DVDS?
Since getting a teacher is so expensive I am thinking of buying a complete set of violin instruction CD or DVDs to learn violin. What are some best violin CD or DVDs or complete instruction guide for violin?also where can i find a book that teaches all violin techniques such as pizzicato, vibrato, etc? Please help!

Violin does not lend itself to self-teaching. Those that manage to succeed even a little bit are around other players who help them on a regular basis. I’ve seen the results of learning violin from a video or book and it’s not pretty. No video can tell you what you personally are doing wrong, which means that chances are you’ll develop a long list of bad habits and wrong techniques and will never get past the basic beginner level.
You can certainly get an instructional course, but don’t kid yourself that you will actually be learning violin.
