Hofner Violin Bass or Les Paul Studio Guitar?

I’m trying to decide between the Hofner Icon Series Vintage Violin Bass and the Epiphone Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar in worn brown for birthday. I really wanted an upgrade from my crappy epiphone les paul junior but i have a nice acoustic bass amp and wanted a nice bass, which should i get and why?

Isn’t this a personal choice?
I have no way to know which one you would use more, I have no way to know which you are better at, I do not even know who you are, How could I ever make a choice like this for you
