Violin Solos for an Audition?
I'm in 8th class, and next year, I plan to audition for the orchestra in high school. I'll have to prepare a solo song and auditions are only slightly more than a month! I'm looking for a violin song that I can use to audition. Additional information I have been played the violin for 2 1 / 2 years but I've never played anywhere other than my middle school orchestra. Although I am the first chair, I'm not very good, so please do not suggest somewhat difficult. I need something easy to learn. I'm thinking of Minuet in G by Beethoven (from Suzuki book 2), but I'm not sure yet and I need more options. I'm trying out for Las Vegas Academy (LVA), so if anyone on here goes there, I would really appreciate the help.
If you currently are learning from a teacher so I would ask him / her for having ideas. If you are not then just play something you feel comfortable with. Suzuki method has some major repertoire, so look through their books can help. Good luck!
