stuck violin pegs
help quick my violin!!?

the tuning pegs are completely stuck. i’ve tried warming the violin, they just are so stiff and i cant move them to tune up. pls help!!!i havent picked up my violin in three months…

You need to find a way to budge the pegs…..my preferred method is to grip the pegs with two drum sticks and use them to turn the peg. Gives you more “torque” and not damaging to the wood.

Once you get them out you have two options….completely remove the pegs and color them with pencil. This helps them “slip.” The right way to do it would be to buy some peg compound (hill is best) and slather the pegs with it before you put them back in. Then they won’t stick.

If you do all of this and they STILL stick, you’ve got warpped pegs. :( Then it needs to go to the shop.
