At number one sits a true Aussie classic, John Farnham's Whispering Jack. This English-born Australian pop icon dominated the teen scene in 1960s but it is his work as a mature adult contemporary singer who has made him well-deserved top-level. Farnham's been honored with several awards and titles, including Australian of the Year in 1987. He is the only Australian artist to have a number one hit in all five consecutive decades of Whispering Jack sits at the top of the chart for 25 weeks in a row. Produced in 1986, Jack was the Whispering always most successful album to be sold in Australia in 2006, with over 1,680 one thousand copies sold nationwide. It has earned an unprecedented 24 times platinum status.
